Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was five, she moved from London to Oxfordshire to attend The Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. When she was 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes for acting, singing and dance. Through a school play as well as an Stagecoach Production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents via their Oxford teacher. After eight consistent auditions director David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It also was the most successful film in 2001. The opening days and weekends of ticket sales were record-breaking. The film has been praised by critics for its film and the performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's acting "amazing". Emma's performance was recognized and later won awards for the movie.
